Is a Free 25,000 - 30,000 Word Book Too Much for a Bribe?

I plan to giveaway a 25,000 - 30,000 word ebook as a bribe for my email list (plus a few more shorter books). It's a book I have written based on my own experiences building an online business from the ground up.

Is this too much to giveaway? I have a few concerns...

    2. That they won't appreciate it if its free, so won't read it. Whereas something shorter might work better, and then a very low price for the book, and because they paid they are more likely to read.

    3. People just don't want a whole book, they want something shorter and more snappy, so the idea of a big book might put them off. (so its a bad angle for a squeeze page)

I really want my audience to read the book as I think it is extremely valuable to them (hope I am right, have to see what my audience decides). I want to build a trusting relationship with my list and I think getting them to read the book in its entirety would be really good for that.

    Thoughts?

You might want to try something shorter.. 30,000 words seems a bit of an overkill.

That's been the feedback so far. Planning to split it up into chapters and deliver it on a weekly basis.

I think in today's world a lot of people browsing online aren't 100% focused. They tend to look for tid-bits of information as opposed to complete books. I think you are right in splitting it up into chapters and on a weekly basis, you should get more interest.

Splitting it up into separate emails over a weekly basis is a good idea. I don't think it's too much for a giveaway though. An average page with a lower font can be 500+ words. That'd be 50-60 pages.

Splitting it up into a email course in newsletter form might be a good idea. Send it out every few days or weekly.

Make a small report first (finishing with a note about your full book). If people are interested in reading the complete ebook they can get it after.

I have decided to split it up, will monitor stats closely to see how it does.
