Many still believe that they are...at some point I wanted to buy or create a new one...gave up the idea!
There can be some satisfaction, but not a fun thing, i decided a couple of years ago to only have the ones that i first started, and not to create anymore, i have 3 general ones and will stick with that.
You can not get backlinks or hugh traffic from directories but yes directory submission can help to improve tour SERP and link popularity.
No, the question is if a directory is profitable. We cant get backlinks from them? Damn As an seo expert, can you please explain how they improve your link popularity and serp while not providing backlinks? This is one of the best yet
SEO expert??? Who, where show me one??? I need SEO expert to tell me how to move my link from Google #1 place to #2 and I'm hoping SEO expert will show me how fastreplies
Some very valid points made by pipes. What you make depends on what you put in, it’s not easy to run a web directory, if you are trying to keep a clean and tidy. You can spend many hours checking listing to rid the directory of dead, redirected or spam links. I just finished cleaning up www.mainsearches.com and I still have lots more work to do, it’s never ending. Adding different mods like extra link fields can help you get more submissions, and also provide better value to the directory users. Directories that are only live to make you some cash probably won’t, you’ll also need to invest some cash on promoting it. Thanks Brian
The worrying thing is that someone might actually try to help you to achieve that the sarcasm towards them goes unnoticed, lol
I agree it's a lot of work to keep a dir clean. But if you do it, you should end up with a decent resource. I have a small niche regional directory, and I think the effort is worth it.
Depends really. Majority of directories make a small bit of money or hardly anything mainly due to the lack of knowledge people have when it comes to monetizing them to make money, advertising them, updating them, etc. Look at Hotscripts, they have a good few paid script listings and I bet they charge a good bit per listing. Also look at some of the hosting directories, some charge around $100 + per month for a sponsored listing where some of the more popular hosting directories have a good few sponsored listings paying that price. So the more knowledge you have with working with a directory and making something profitable, the more likely you are at making money from a directory.
Yes , its profitable if you start a good directory with custom theme and buy High PR links for it . If its PR5 then you can earn in Hundreds easily .
It is like with any other websites or blogs. If it is popular then it can be very profitable. If you can convince people ( lot of people ) that it is worth to submit to your directory for $ 25 a year then you will make some money. I think it would be lot of work like with anything else. I personally would only pay for yahoo directory.
I could spend your Yahoo listing fee on at least five quality directory listings and get better results. Yahoo isn’t worth half as much as many believe it to be, or once was. Thanks Brian
I agreed to you guys, We can earn some bucks from our directoires. Now which is the best way to earn from the directories? Paid links or Adsense?
