I have a menu with 2 sublevels. Do you think that is good for SEO? Menu Item 1 Menu subitem1 level 1 Menu subitem level 2 I have like 50 or 60 elements in that menu. Is a mega menu good for SEO? My main competition has about the same menu elements but with mega menu, and they are ranking for everything. What do you think?
Mega Menu is part of designing and CSS not of SEO. Menu optimization is part of SEO and for this multilevel or mega menu is not necessary part. For looking we use mega menu its not related to SEO. If you are using simple drop down or without drop down then its also good if you have well optimized site. Your competitors are not ahead due to his Mega menu only. Check status of his website by analyze his complete website and compare to your ..... I am sure you will find many things that why he is on top for many things and why you are not.
According to me 2 sublevels per item is a bit confusing, i will not recommend this. Mega Menu is more better option than this.
Hi, I am an e-commerce store owner and I have done lots of research so hoping I can help you with this a bit here. Your menu size is fine. But I would suggest that for each main category and sub-category and sub-sub category you research and understand what is the category with the highest traffic (I would call them money pages). If there are categories with little traffic, I would suggest you remove those categories. There is no point providing something customers don't need. That way you may be able to eliminate redundant categories. What matters now is that you build a SILO structure with your menu categories. SILO-ing helps you get better SEO ranking without any other effort. This is something you deal with internally in your store. Why? Because it shows you are a topic matter expert. For more information, click here: https://ahrefs.com/blog/internal-links-for-seo/. I use Shopify and Shopify does not offer SILO offer the box. I created a virtual SILO within my store. Read the link to understand more. How to SILO? Here is an example: MAIN category: Dresses (Money Page = Highest Traffic) SUB Category: Formal Dresses, Summer Dresses, Casual Dresses... (Lesser Traffic) SUB- SUB Category: Under Formal Dresses: Evening Dress, Cocktail Dress, Prom Dress,.... (Even Lesser Traffic) Your SEO link juice will be focused towards Dresses and trickle down towards other pages. Google will read you as an expert in Dresses as you have multiple supporting pages / content under it. This alone can help you boost your SEO ranking. Read the link and understand more. I hope this helps you.
way too many menu items but... many websites use this and they are fine. Just make sure your menu item are relevant and helpful.
