First, What are MFA websites? I do agree people are much more inclined to pay once and then forget it. As a buyer, that would be my preference. But, who is to say the link isn't dropped later? That's my concern as a buyer. Forever means what? Until the owner sells the site to someone else, which is more often than not? I just wouldn't trust it. I would have to check it, too, to make sure the directory doesn't "drop" me for whatever reason down the line. I just think if you don't charge for a submission, the directory will fill up with garbage sites. What is the best directory script out there? Paid for is usually best, I am willing to pay. Thanks anyone for any help! Carol
Carol, "MFA" means Made for Adsense site. Many such sites are put online in the hopes of generating revenues through Googles Adsense program. The only problem with most, not all of these sites is that they are simply ads with no content. Anyway, MFA - Made for Adsense.
I allow free submissions with reciprocal only , with that it helps with the PR and i get good traffic from those reciprocal links.
featured link?? or just normal?? I just started my directory and would like to know what is acceptable. I have been very leanient (spelling?) in accepting sites as I want to start getting some links in my directory but I plan to maintain it once in a while and remove sites with no information and just basically MFA. is a rec link acceptable to ask for on a PR1 site when I get there hopefully next update? promoting again its http://www.mashd.info I put a 1 year on my featured links its the longest you can have except for the forever option which I do not like.
$9.95 (permanent link) is really quite cheap compared to alot of sites out there - I've seen quite a few that charge $19.95 per year for just a basic link
I spend a fair amount of money on directories and don't mind paying $10 at all. I do have a problem with $35 and higher unless I am very confident that the directory will bring traffic. Normally, I don't care about PR. But, I do check to be sure that most pages are indexed by G. If they're not, it suggests a problem and a possibility that the directory would disappear after a while. Unfortunately, lots of good directories have had pages drop from the index lately. So, I'll often bookmark a directory with lost pages and check back in a few weeks before committing. /tom/
