Is $5 a regular link too expensive?

I have set the price for regular link for only $5. But I got only several buyers over months. I am curious what people are thinking.

Yes, my directory is PR0 but it has been alive for nearly half year and will gain PR soon. Since there are nearly 2000 pages indexed by G.

Also how much can I ask for the home page link (also sidewide)? Is $30 a year too much?

PR0 is the reason. Sometimes when you have the best directory in the world..with a low PR people just wont pay. im having that problem as well, thats why im focusing on marketing and building up a backlink bonanza

Once you get a PR2 the paid links tend to start coming in more regularly..as ive seen on one of my older sites..i have a PR5.5 non directory but im not taking landscape on that at the moment.

Good luck though, stick with it.

No PR no money. People are more willing to pay if your site has some PR. Just wait it out, PR update should be coming soon.

Sitewides are a bad idea for directory owners, but a good investment for buyers. You'll shoot yourself in the foot and decrease your sites value.

    Wait it out for PR.

i would go free untill you have a good index of a few thousand links and have some decent pr, then go paid (i prefer free regular links and paid featured links however)

Thanks Guys. I have set it for free for a long time. But I want to force recpr. link now if people don't want to pay. Ok, I will wait to see PR updates.

I have nearly 2000 pages already indexed by Google, which means every page is indexed.

Just my two cents, but even with the "free with reciprocal", a newer directory that is just now earning PR, is not likely to get too many submissions without a "free non-recip" option.

Home page indexed, rest supplemental. Suggests you won't be showing much PR even when the next update comes around.

Try adding some information on your submit page that lets people know your directory is not just another abandoned project. List your strengths and your plans for the directory.
