Hey, My site got $3900 for 1,094,818 impressions. Is that alright? That site got banned from google though because we didnt alter our site in time to abide by googles recent terms of service change (putting ads next to small thumbnails). We launched a new site. We havnt quite started promoting yet (just a small test banner on the old site). It got $4.65 for 72 impressions which is not at all bad. I mean if it stays like that (which it is so far) then it'll be like $65 per thousands hits. And we plan on promoting it an awful lot (via game sponsorship) which usualy pulls in 100k impressions a day (and evens out when the game is out of date to about 50k a day). If it stays the same it'll be very nice. What do you guys think?
Yeah I'd say that is an ok amount for 1,000,000 impressions but obviously it depends on the site topic. What do you mean by game sponsorship btw? As in I realise you mean sponsor games but where do they put your link etc...?
In general $3900 for 1M impressions is not that great, but it all depends on the industry really. 72 impressions is not enough to tell how it will perform, but so far so good. Good luck! BTW, what do you mean by 'game sponsorship'?
Well I cant get into YPN because im not in the US. It's a game site so I thought that was a pretty ok ammount. I mean it cost a lot less to get the site to that level in the first place. Problem is google banned it because of their terms of service change. Anyways the other site, The other site I have high hopes for. The eCPM's are a lot higher then the game site (the lowest it's been is at least twice as high as the highest the game site has been). I will report on that in a couple of days after the game we're sponsoring is released tonight. By game sponsorship I mean we pay to put our logo (and links on the menu) in someones flash game. The game then gets distributed all over on loads of sites and we get a hell of a lot of hits and they dont die down for a very long time. It's a very good way of getting traffic.
That is a cool way of doing it but how do you find game programmers that are willing to take sponsorships? Also yeah keep us updated. I'm interested in how things turn out for you.
Wait, you said your site was banned because you had images near the ads? No border in between them? Does it even matter with the border, does it help on not getting banned?
No borders dont even matter. You will be banned if small images are placed near text ads in a manner in which to confuse the visitors. I have contacts in regards to game developers (I am one myself). So it's pretty much snatching them up from forums and word of mouth that we're a sponsor etc.
still, we'r talking 4grand here. $ is $. maybe you coiuld had made more with diff. ppc companies - depends on your keyword. good job though!
