Hello Looking at making another site for which plan on alot of traffic and visitors,

It will have alot of video, Now I seen one plan that I like says 2000 gb data transfer but doesn't mention anything about bandwith?

They are no the same thing as I relies, data transfer is the amount of traffic, and bandwith is how fast things load?

    cheers

I think you are a bit confused, Data Transfer is Bandwidth. How big are your videos?

Bandwidth denotes the volume of data that can be transferred per unit of time. Data transfer is the measure of the traffic generated from your website. The difference is that the bandwidth is a rate of data transfer. If the bandwidth is high, the website will load faster because it can transfer more data per second. This does not mean that the data transfer will be high, because the amount of data transferred will depend on the number of visitors to your website and the file sizes of your website pages.

Is the plan you are referring to shared hosting or a VPS? If it's shared, then it's bogus.

If you actually tried to use that much transfer on shared hosting, most reliable providers would ask you to upgrade to a VPS or dedicated.

Data transfer and bandwidth are very closely related, but not the same thing. Bandwidth is the size of the "pipe" if you will, and data transfer is the amount of data you will be allowed to transfer over that given connection.

In your case, the actual bandwidth connection is probably going to be either 100mbps or 1gbps, with you being allowed 2TB of data transfer on that connection.

Depending on how busy your site is and just how many videos you have, 2TB might not be anywhere close to enough. Then again, it might cover you just fine. For a general idea, take the average size of your videos and figure a rough estimate as to how many times they will be downloaded per month.

Example: 100mb video downloaded 1000 times per month is going to use about 100GB of your data transfer.

Work out those numbers and you'll get a relative sample of what kind of transfer you will be needing every month.

Well its no need of me here, but as mentioned data transfer and bandwidth are same. If you have mid-size website 2000 GB data transfer would be ok, but its big you may need more bandwidth. I am saying that because normally video streaming or downloading services take lot of bandwidth.

IMO, you have got a excellent deal with 2000 GB, now just select a good amount of RAM and ask your web hosting services provider the 'Network Connection speed' which is normally described in 'Mbps' and this will the factor deciding your data transfer speed.

Exactly, just like those unlimited backups. Search in Google and you will see people posting bandwidth speeds. Are they unlimited? Sure, but uploading for example 500 GB would take you 2 years, because they are capped in speed, or bandwidth.

So you prefer a backup provider which is limited to 500 GB and you can upload it in 7 days or one that is unlimited which would take years to upload the same?

Thats just a basic comparission but hosting is pretty much the same.

You already know how much is the MAX data the client can upload or download per month based on the speed. So be aware, unlimited or allot of transfers, means usually very low speeds or capped, this means you will never be able to transfer that much data anyway. Is just a marketing trick.

A serious provider should stay and describe both things in their offer:
    1. Speed
    2. Data transfer allowed

Unless its unmetered, then it would only publish speed. Example 10 Mbits unmetered would be 3200 GB per month on a best world scenario.
