i'm seeking some advice from adwords experts. i'm creating a campaign on a product i'm starting to promote and the way things are going, it look like am gonna have 1000 or so adgroups for the campaign, each containing about 25 keywords/variations. is this normal for example, if am promoting product "red blue" i'd have an adgroup as: red blue service "red blue service" [red blue service] redblue service "redblue service" [redblue service] service red blue "service red blue" [service red blue] service redblue "service redblue" [service redblue] redblueservice "redblueservice" [redblueservice] serviceredblue "serviceredblue" [serviceredblue] and then another adgroup like cheap red blue service "cheap red blue service" [cheap red blue service] ... .. .. [redblueservicecheap] etc. is this normal, is it a good thing to do or is it a waste of time? any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanx.
Nothing bad about it. Usually people do this with long tail keywords. Since long tail keywords have less competitors. Though they do bring in less traffic. But when you are targeting 1000 long tail keywords, the traffic starts to pile up.
I would only do this if this is basically your ONLY project and you really think it can bring in a lot of money. Otherwise you'll spend all of your time creating and managing this monster.
