Is 1$ public ad possible?

    Hi,

Yesterday i got a 1$ click. When i login to Adsense to see which channel has given that click, i saw that only ad showing there is a public ad.

So what do you think about this? Did Google give 1$ for a public ad or is Google showing different ads to different people? (As far as i know, publicads do not return money.)

    Thanks.

The ads can be target based on location if the advertiser chooses too. So chances are people in a different location then you are seeing ads, but your right public service ads do not pay.

You got paid $1 buck for a Public Service Ad. I don't think this is possible, since they aren't supposed to pay anything.

I have noticed that sometimes a site will show Google Ads, then when I hit the Refresh button on my browser, it shows Public Service Ads. As Google is propogating your ads based on the content of your page, perhaps they turn off and on again.

It could be that the time you loaded your site, it showed a Public Service Ad, but when the visitor loaded your site, it showed a Google Ad.

Then probably Chopster's theory is the correct one.

The ads are rotated anyway on different hours, on different days. So one day it may have PSAs, another day got lucrative ads.

I agree but the interesting point is that i looked at the same url at most in 1 hour. (In fact, i login to adsense when my "adsense for firefox" reported the change. (which is programmed to update every 15 minutes))

    Thanks for the answers.
