Is 1% CTR good enough?

    Been trying all the tricks out there but it seems that my site visitors are getting smart as well. Usually I got 800 pageviews per day and 8-10 clicks . Is 1% good enough?

    Depends what kind of site/business you are running. Personally I am disappointed with anything under 25%.

    1% does does seem pretty low but 25% seems excessively high. With 1%, you need to have 10,000's of page impressions to make the whole venture worthwhile.

    CTR depends of many factors:

    1. quality of content (the worse is content, the higher is CTR);
    2. number of external links (less links, higher CTR);
    3. page design - "narrow" or "focused" pages tend to generate higher CTR. Huge pages with many columns has worse CTR.
    4. blending - fonts play great role in CTR. Fonts on pages must be better suited to fonts used in AdSense ads.

    Hope this helps.

    P.S. Had no problems getting 15-40% CTRs.
