    It isn't a whole lot of money to me, but it is still a considerable amount.

    A lot of money to me would be around $10,000.

    And no, I stick to Windows :)

    Once you get, get Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-this, Anti-that the performane is half down. :/ But thats with Windows.
    Try Ubuntu, its marvelous on PC's.

    But here is something that made me buy my macbook pro (Intel).
    - You can run Windows, Linux or Any other OS as smooth as they would do in a PC, that too simultaneously .
    - You can run these OS's seperately just like a PC .
    - Mac OSx will give you much more perfomance than a PC with sam config loaded with Anti-Viruses and Anti-Spyware.

    Try running Windows on a MBP (2125 USD) and a Vaio or Dell in same price range.
