Is $1.00 eCPM considered good for arcade sites?

Just wondering. I know you can get it way higher by using "stealthy" techniques but I'm in it for the long haul.

can do much better than that.. try using a boxunit and puting game thumbnails next to your ads. be sure to put some kind of divider between the thumbnails and the ads. you can see how i have it on my site in my signature. I'm doing about $3-6 eCPM.. It depends on the day. i had a really horrible day on sun where it was about $1.

My game site is earning me also around $2 eCPM. I haven't done any of the image things like mistress is doing but it is something I want to do real soon. I saw an other post here titled images and adsense that had a link to a gamesite that realy blended the ads (in a good way)

But overall I don't expect to earn much from my gamesite as there are so many and its hard to find an edge to get loads of traffic.

I don't know about gaming sites, but in my experience, anything over $1 eCPM is pretty good, especially if you have high traffic. The ones with high eCPM, I'm suspecting, have low traffic.

What do you consider high traffic?

Most of my sites are way above the $1 eCPM but then again the best site I have is only getting 100-150 uniques a day.

I think you can have high CPM with high traffic it doesnt really depend on the traffic amount really more on where the traffic numbers are coming from, for example how many are first time vistors, page views/visitor...

Say if your site gets one time hits from SEs as an informational site then your CPM might be high but for an arcade site like yours I assume most visitors are returning therefore the CPM number is kind of misleading, you should look at it more like how much you make per 1000 uniques or better yet first time visitors, I find StatCounter stats help with this simply get there stats and Google's CVS files and in Excel figure out the more accurate numbers, to really get an idea of how your sites ad placement compares across the board, and if you get anywhere from $5-10 then you are doing ok, anything above is great ;)

It honestly depends on what the contend of your site is..
I personally don't consider 100-150 uniques per day 'high traffic', but if you are talking about hosting related items (or other high paying keywords), those 150 per day could get you $1 or $2 per click, much higher then $1 ecpm, even with like a .5% CTR. For an arcade site, I think $1 cpm is pretty much average. I have run arcades both slightly above and below that number. YPN helps, a lot.

My arcade site generally gets about $1 cpm, even using images and decent ad placement (IMO of course), but recieves much more traffic then your site.

High traffic to me would be about 50-70 000 page views a day

Why are stuck on just text advertising? There is so many other types of media out there. That to stick to adsense just won't cut it for high-supply, untargeted traffic.
