Just got done with this video which details with the help of ex IRS employees, tax lawyers and constitutional lawyers the fact that the IRS has no power to collect taxes the way it does. A few of the ex IRS employees actually admit to having not payed taxes for years since they know their way around the laws. MUST SEE !!
Yeah, and if there is anything to the video then you know that the I.R.S. has marked these people as easy targets. Avoiding taxes is a waste of time. Instead, concentrate on building wealth legally.
I havn't paid federal and state taxes for a long time either. I get out of them because I don't make enough. Next year will probably be the first year that I can't swing enough deductions to get all my money back.
I'm sorry KNC, but on this I have to disagree... somewhat. Rich people creating deductions in order to avoid a large part, or all of their tax burden has created some sizable direct contributions to various charitable organizations, and by cutting out the middle man (the government), there has been less of that money going to the beurocracy (sp?) the government has in place for distributing aid money.
However, it is still legal. 2AO is mentioning something that is totally different: the avoidance of taxes altogether outside of what the government has authorized. Whether you think the rich are paying enough taxes or not is a separate issue.
I wish direct taxation wasn't a part of our life, but I don't really believe in these tax avoidance schemes.
Now that actually brings up the issue of weather using loopholes in the law is illegal, or if it is just using the letter of the law to one's advantage. Unless I misunderstood the part about "knowing their way around the laws", or missed some other bit of content. If that's the case, I apologies. But I do personally disagree with breaking the law.
Loop holes are called what they are for a reason. Rich people aggregately pay a lot more in taxes either way, and they are not avoiding taxes altogether.
Um from everything I've seen it clearly demonstates that there is no actual law that says you must pay federal income tax on your labor. Furthermore, apparently the IRSs own code says that sending in your 1040 in "voluntary". A quick look at the video should clear up any confusion.
http://www.buildfreedom.com/fiscal/irs_commissioner.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_protester#Arguments_about_constitutionality_in_U.S._tax_crime_cases You will not win in court. Those people selling you those books and making those videos either don't live in the US to avoid prosecution or are paying their taxes. The falacy in the first quote is that you are not signing a fairy tale like you would be if you were required to sign a form admitting to murder. Everything on your 1040 is true. You're not "incriminating" yourself because you havn't committed any crime nor are you admitting to committing a crime. Unless you think that it's against the law to pay income tax. Which it's not.
Yeah there are many people in Federal prison with this same arguement. It doesn't work and has been disallowed in court.
I'm really getting the impression that some of you who disagree with me HAVE NOT watched the video. Try watching 1/2 the video before you come here telling me how it is. It's kind of important since the thread revolves around the video. Thanks.
Well, 2AO you are right about that: I haven't watched the video. Let's just say that I have a lot of years under my belt and dickering with the I.R.S. is not something I am interested in doing. Feel free to follow their recommendations then report back to us to let us know how it is working for you.
I'm sorry you wont watch the video, it's very good. You don't even need to watch the entire video to get the point. I only watch the first 1/2 and the picture is very clear. What convinced me more than anything else is when they press the IRS or other government officials to show the law that says the IRS can collect taxes on your labor everyone goes silent - everyone except those who openly admit the IRS has no such power (including congressmen). I never implied you would win - however apparently some people are winning (via trial by jury). The problem there too is that the IRS failed to show the jurors the law which supports their claims. Tisk tisk Because everyone believes they have to and if they don't in most cases you will go to prison or suffer in other ways. However that doesn't mean what the IRS is doing is legal. Part of the problem is the lower courts refuse to rule on the matter of legality concerning what the IRS does. And apparently this issue is having trouble making it to our good old supreme court (I know they're so busy working 80hrs a week).
