The Adsense Units provided by Google are totally irrelevant for my site. My site is about cleaning software, antiviruses, registry cleaner disk cleaner and so on and Google advertise Efficient Dust Collection Systems, filter bags, vacuum cleaners... I feel to remove Adsense code from the site. What can I do ?
Sounds like you might need some more specific content...Adsense seems to be confused and is targeting the "cleaning" aspect with regards to cleaning dust etc. Not knowing what your site has on it, the best I can suggest is "spinning out" your content a bit more to describe things in more detail. If your pages are very new, it may be that Adsense is taking a bit of time to hone in on your content, too.
It happens. Google is just software and will base ads on what it sees. You can change titles and use section targeting. Search your competitors and look at their keywords and title tags. What ads are displaying on their sites. And while not a secret per se the type of incoming and outgoing linking anchor text also tells Google's Adsense Bot what your site is about.
You should take advantage of the site filter that adsense has. Using that you can ban all the ads about cleaning and possibly ones from your competitors so you can boost either your click through rate or profit based on your website.
how old is your site? if it is new, then this can be normal as it takes adsense bot sometimes 24+ hours to get a page index. unless your page is not indexed by adsense bot, you will not get relevant ads. or it can be due to lack of content or targeted keywords. if your site is not brand new and still not getting targeted ads, then try section targeting which will help
Yeah, it can take 2 weeks until proper ads are shown. You can also try to use section targeting: <!-- google_ad_section_start --> blah blah blah <!-- google_ad_section_end --> To Ignore a section: <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --> blah blah <!-- google_ad_section_end(weight=ignore) -->
Thanks to all for the replies. After 24h all is normal, my ads are finally relevant to the site, targeting the content of the site. The site is also new, but the domain is old(2007), and several years back at that domain was indeed a site about "cleaning the dust". But, it seems now Google put the things in the proper way. Thanks again to all for the replies.
