    It is old leaflet. Maybe you have read that leaflet.

    Why we must end the occupation of Iraq ?

    The invasion of Iraq in 2003 was an immoral act based on lies - and the
    occupation is a continuation of it. It is rooted in a disregard for human
    rights and human life and has resulted in three years of appalling suffering

    Occupation =violence, death and destruction
    George Bush's admission that 30,000 Iraqi civilians had been killed so far is a ross under-estimate. The Lancet concluded that 100,000 people had died as a result of the war during its first 18 months.Since then,violence has increased. A Pentagon report says that sixty Iraqis are killed on average every day.

    Occupation =poverty and plunder
    20% of Iraqis now live below the poverty line, eight million on less than a dollar a day

    Occupation =economic and social breakdown
    Occupation =human rights abuses
    Occupation =no reconstruction
    Occupation =corruption
    Civil war?

    The US-UK occupation is the problem, not the solution

    Iraq has been an utter disaster based on a massive lie yet a load of people in this P&R forum support it from the safety of their own homes sat behind their PC's in their carpet slippers.

    I doubt many people here will be interested mate.

    I am in support of it, but there must be an orderly withdrawal that will not result in social chaos or a vacuum in political and military power. The Iraqis had suffered enough, do not want them to suffer another round, this time of civil wars.

    Unfortunately, the desire to prevent further pain, just continues the pain. Many people on this forum have argued that we can't stop causing the Iraqis pain too fast, because it might mean more pain.

    Thus far, we have been terrible at predicting the outcome of action in Iraq. I think the doom and gloom exit scenarios are perpetuated to appeal to a sense of guilt and the laziness of inaction. The loudest cries for disaster if we leave come from the right, and paralyze the left.

    Ron Paul puts it best. If you prescribe a treatment, and it makes the patient sicker, you have to change the treatment, not continue the ineffective treatment.

    The issue is which Presidential candidate would dare to pull out the troops and get all the blame for the problems or potential problems that may accompany the pull out. Also the 4000 deaths and $3 trillion would be down the drain for nothing.

    The greatest enemies of a President like this, will be the neocons, the neolibs and the various industrial complexes through their lobbies and mainstream media fronts.

    The people continue to vote for change in foreign policy, specifically a withdrawal from Iraq, either immediately or by timetable.

    They are already wasted. I got turned off on gambling by losing everything I had in my wallet, then losing my paycheck right at the end of the month when rent was due.

    The lessons I learned were, don't play if you can't afford to lose, and know when to walk away before losing everything.

    How many more soldiers and how many more innocent iraqi men , women and children need to die to keep this administration from admitting its blunder. Is their ego worth more then the lives of these people????
    Howcome we had a war tribunal at the end of ww2 and we dont have it for other illegal wars?????

    You can't expect Bush to trial and judge and condemn himself I guess.
