Iraq demands deadline for pullout of all US troops

BAGHDAD - Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Monday no security agreement with the United States could be reached unless it included a "specific deadline" for the withdrawal of all American troops from Iraq.

Wait a minute didn't some neocons tell us "We liberated Iraq from Saddam Hussein? Didn't some neocons here tell us "Iraqis want American troops to stay in Iraq to protect them?"

Even the American puppet Maliki insist on:

.........."There can be no treaty or agreement except on the basis of Iraq's full sovereignty," al-Maliki told a gathering of tribal sheiks. He said such an agreement must be based on the principle that "no foreign soldier remains in Iraq after a specific deadline, not an open time frame."

White House spokesman Tony Fratto said negotiations with the Iraqis continued, but reiterated the U.S. stance depended on conditions in Iraq.

"We're optimistic that Iraq and the U.S. can reach a mutual agreement on flexible goals for U.S. troops to continue to return on success — based on conditions on the ground — and allow Iraqi forces to provide security for a sovereign Iraq," he said in Crawford, Texas...........

SO MUCH FOR THE US RESPECT OF OTHERS FREEDOMS AND SOVERENITY.

These people the Neocons that are ruling us are Anti-American. They stand against everything this country is standing for - Freedom and Democracy.

Every major international and internal issue is a failure.

How does the current administration justify their opposition to this request? What could be a better indicator of "success" than their democratically elected officials telling us to get the f*ck out?

The US will pullout combat troops by the end of 2011.

The situation is akin to Germany demanding the pullout if US forces in 1948.

The US has won in Iraq and it is time to leave. I think everyone agrees with that. The US troops will be gone by the end of year.

How dare they oppose our help. After we gave them democracy they want to keep the oil to themselves?

We will never leave. Well, maybe after we recoup our loses.

    Peace,

    Iraq has a huge surplus.

The oil that Iraq exports is paid for at world market prices.

The troops are being redeployed to Afganistan.

If they're a puppet state why are they not agreeing to everything proposed by the Americans? It seems the main point of this thread has already been contradicted.

Hey, i'm all for it. If they want us out, then lets get out. If they feel as though they can protect themselves then I'm happy with getting our troops out. That should be the ultimate goal.

You have confusion in your ujnderstandings of right and wrong.
If US troops are not welcomed in Iraq, why staying there?
If US is a democracy why occupying others? Something does not make sense?

This is what I see over and over on this board. Neocons confuse all the time good and bad.
