The current siege was in response to Hamas taking control of Gaza. Remember when they killed the Fatah members and violently took control of Gaza? Please try to follow along, your feigned ignorance is growing tiresome.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hamas have declared victory.

Meanwhile Hamas vows to rearm ...

"Manufacturing holy weapons is our mission and we know how to acquire weapons," Abu Obaida, a spokesman for Hamas's armed wing, told reporters.

The Arab Jews are refugees that were expelled to Israel.

    * 150,000 Libyan Jews now live in Israel, (2.2% of the nations population).
    * Nearly 1,000,000 Moroccan Jews live in Israel today comprising around 14% of its total population.
    * About 133,000 Egyptian Jews now live in Israel, 1.9% of the nations population.
    * 210,000 Algerian Jews now live in Israel, (3% of the nations population).
    * About 35,000 Jews from Lebanon now inhabit the State of Israel, they are 0.5% of the Israeli population.
    * Today there are over 540,000 Iraqi Jews in Israel constituting nearly 8% of its national population.
    * In 1948 the Jewish population was an estimated 105,000. During the Six-Day War, Jews were attacked in riots, and, despite government protection, an additional 7,000 of the remaining Jews emigrated to France. As of 2004[update] an estimated 1,500 still remain,

Please forgive me, my mind reading abilities have been lacking lately, but from what you've typed it sounds to me like you're talking about the borders being closed.

Why should the borders be "unconditionally open" when they have sworn to destroy Israel? Yeah sure, how about we even get them a map to cool location where they can send terrorists to blow themselves up like they did in the early 2000-2004, which then caused the blockades to be set up.

I think controlled borders within reason is fair, but what its like now is basically a prison.

Its pretty clear that the closed borders just motivated them to dig tunnels and smuggle more bigger weapons, than if the border was controlled and imports were inspected. So clearly in that sense it completely fails.

Furthermore they continually block aid trucks, block pregnant women and dying people from getting to hospitals, and other nice events a Google search will tell you about. It makes you wonder if their intention with the occupation is to really stop weapons, or just to completely destroy the Palestinian people in every way possible ?

Is every country to allow anyone who wants to come in? Does the US let any "pregnant women and dying people" from Mexico come into San Diego to go to hospitals? The world should be building Gaza up so they can take care of their own people, but it is not on Israel to do so. Especially when you consider that when Israel did have its borders more open the result was suicide attacks and other attacks inside of Israel.

Where is your condemnation of Egypt keeping its border closed to Gaza or do you think only Israel has an obligation and Egypt gets a pass?

Hamas is already digging new tunnels.

Iran wants to talk to Obama to take a new approach. I'm wondering what new approach they want?

The Mexicans are a lot smarter than the Palestinians.

    Figures, dogs dig.

It probably involves someone grabbing their ankles and someone else inserting...

That they are. They love America and Americans and come here, build homes, do jobs white boys won't do, and are some of the most family oriented people you'll ever meet. We have about 17% Spanish population in our town. From our neighbors to the friends my son has at school, I have to say these are some of the nicest, and most God fearing people I've ever come to know. It never ceases to amaze me how they can make even the most horrible or remedial of jobs into something of pure pride. And they do it while supporting a family here and abroad. I'm talking about the legal immigrants btw.

I still say Chavez (Caesar) had it right when he told Robert Kennedy that the Mexicans are the Irish of the 20th century. Great people, with a wonderful work ethic and pride. Bar none!

The remedial jobs are a way to climb up the ladder. The immigrant population is doing a lot better than the native born population in the inner cities. The Cubans in Miami and West New York are already part of the middle class.
