Iran naval captives can sell stories

This is a little bit worrying, the 15 captives that were released the other day are being allowed to sell their story's to the media. Obviously the female member of the captured party Faye Turney will be the "prized catch" for our superb media, even though she looks a lot like a bloke.

Is this right for them to be able to sell their story to the media for thousands of pounds?

Will this encourage other soldiers out there to deliberately get themselves captured?

One thing you can be guaranteed of though is that the media here in the UK will completely jazz this up, it will definitely not be 100% true and for sure it will demonize Iran.

I am not keen on the British tabloids at the best of times as they constantly lie and will always exaggerate. Is this a ploy to groom the sheeple for the upcoming Iran attack? ;)

Well the British Tabloids are always good for 'trash news'
Did that woman have sex with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

You might all laugh but it all depends on 'how much money is on the table'

Facts have nothing to compete with When Green is on Offer $$$$$$$$

    This is warped.

First, they get caught. Then they confess on Iranian tv to whatever, and now they get to sell their stories? wtf?!

They should be courtmartialled for ineptitude - didn't any of them notice a flotilla of Iranian boats headed their way?!

The brits let the kite fly high, so that everybody can see it.

Good so, iran has to learn that it can't gamble like this.

    Bravo!

If MP'S and PM'S can sell there stories i don't see why these cant? So long as it doesn't release any important operations information, which it wont, why does it matter and what harm does it do anyone?

I'm not keen on the idea of this at all. It falls into the realms of ambulance-chasers seeking compensation when they trip on a flagstone or get scalded on a restaurant cup of coffee. Most of all I worry about the precedent that it might set. I also worry about what the Iranians will make of their former captors gloating and captilising on their release. The next unlucky Brit sailors to fall foul of inept Iranian map reading might not get off so lightly.

Oh no! Because we all know Iran is such a peaceful country and this is sure to hurt its prized reputation

Then again, you were not kidnapped by Iranians and held for 2 weeks.

Try not to be suckered into the BS mate, if you do then I recommend you join GTech and his crazy gang here in this P&R forum.

Remember the complete lies we were told by the Bush administration to get us into the complete disaster we are in in Iraq, don't let the lying scumbag media fool you all the time mate, the mainstream media are all controlled and will try their very best to fool people like you, and unfortunately you buy the BS.

You mean it's a bit worrying for Iran? If I recall correctly, you had no concern over your countrymen at all, in fact blamed their capture on (of all things) GWB. It was only Iran you were worried about then. Is that the same case here too?

I since the developing of a conspiracy theory to benefit your buds and once again, show any lack of concern for your fellow countrymen.

No, I don't remember these lies. Would you like to document them to show you are not lying? Who are "us?" You've made it clear you support the terrorists in Iraq and rogue nations, so your "us" is obviously different than the "us" of others.

Indeed that's true. I'm a land lubber instead of a skimmer.

Let's put it this way then: if a UK serviceman is captured behind enemy lines in the future what's to stop him from co-operating with the enemy solely to enhance his chances of being released and able to sell his story to some scuzzy tabloid? Unlikely, but a possibility with this weak stance by the MOD. I'm willing to bet that neither of the officers will sell their story.

    These lies? And these lies?

I find it ironic that you, of all people, believe you have the high moral ground to call someone else a liar. I take it you don't re-read your own posts?

It's all documented right there, but alex jones won't let you see the truth.

That's the worry mate, even SKY NEWS which is owned by none other than Illuminati big player Rupert Murdoch had a poll earlier today with 87% saying that it's not right.

I still admire the troops out there even though they are fighting an illegal war due to MASSIVE LIES but this is totally wrong and makes me worry a lot.

Oh yes AGS, i bet they are all waiting for their dreams to come true = being taken hostage by Iran.

That might be your wet dream but not people who are normal.

Nice to see your covering all your bases;) Saying it will "demonize Iran" & it won't be true, you total nutter!:D

Your biggest fear is the truth;) ;)

Well, well, well. The sun has paid a six figure sum (in pounds sterling) for her to tell her "story." Will it be exaggerated? Will it contain a few lies? Of course it will for Christ's sake it's The Sun lol.

Now that is the true definition of a media whore.

It is also worth remembering that the dreadful tabloid is owned by the same man that owns FOX News in the USA and we all know how bad FOX News is. ;)
