It's always amazing to me how some countries have media that only show one point of view and feel like they're truly free and informed. At the same time it amazes me the a country like the US has major media covering every angle and argument out there, even things like 9-11 being an inside job, YET they choose to ONLY believe one side and file all others as "ridiculous". You are quick to denounce the things Saddaam has been said to have done, yet at the same time quick to identify those who believe something else as "brainwashed". Have you ever even entertained the idea that war with Iraq wasn't for "oil"... even for a second? Have you ever heard any well done argument that goes against your beliefs in this? Even the most ridiculous ideas can sound plausible depending on how they're presented and debated so to not even give it a thought and a listen is pure ignorance on all of our part. It's very easy to pick these bandwagon people out. They only speak of one side of things and attack all others. Unfortunately, these people are on all sides of an argument and a majority of the human race from my experience. Reality is, none of us have proof of any of this but have no problem swearing up and down we know what happened and why. I would like to think I have a better idea in this with having served 6 years in the military with a secret clearance... however maybe your cousin was Saddaam and you talked on the phone every day to confess his sins of which none of these accusations were part of. As for Iran, the numbers of people in the streets really says something. How many are too scared to take to the streets or aren't that passionate about it? Either the opposing party truly had more votes than the numbers showed or the level of passion with those voters is extremely high. Fact is, none of us know if someone new would be any better for Iran or not no matter how it looks. What is clear is there is a very serious push for some change to a more free and transparent society.
Maybe you do a lil bit more research before throwing something out? I think you mean by the word "Holy war" religios war. No you are wrong. There was a long history of border dispute between iran-iraq. even during secular Shah regime. Reza Shah pahlawi's army was way too strong for saddam to make any wrong move. After the Enqelabe Eslami or Islamic Revolution Many iranian pilots, Enginiers, generals etc.. fleed Iran due to fear of execution or idealogic diffrences which left islamic republic very weak and vulnerable. Saddam found the setuation good and attacked iran in hope of solving all border disputes and gainning access to rich iranian oil fields, but he failed which left iraq with billions in dept. I want to mantion here that more than half of Iraqi population are Shias!! Just to prove you wrong , if it was a religios war then why in earth Iraqi shias were fighting Irani shias?!
So in short, although Iran is Shiite and Iraq is Sunni, the war between the two, who caused the lives of millions, was not a religious war. Yea, he could name a couple of minor exceptions. The fighting between the shiite and Sunni iraqis, with "just" couple of thousands of casualties, is in fact a religious war, and the fault is the US occupation. Actually, it is Mr_2 who determines what is a religious war and what isn't. The criteria: it must fit with his political views.
Of course. And when it is proven that he is wrong, and he is called out on it. He will ignore it. Hence:
So You were there when they created those report ? hehehehehe stop lying dude in 1993 after first gulf war I don't think saddam would have let you in iraq to make a report about kurds ... So how did you got in? yeh and i was in moon twais So that its not an occupation? what it is then? Would you accept if Irans Revolutionary guard enter US and Change your goverment and put a few puppets on top and make a treaty with them? At the same time give all oil contracts to Iranian firms?
So you couldnt bring any solid facts again ? You did disappoint me , i waited for something more mature and solid Why it is so hard for you to get it?! 60% of iraqis are shia! How can it be a religios war? so during all those years of bombing it was '"just" couple of thousands of casualties' ? Maybe you better do some math practice?
The Iran-Iraq war did have a religious element. Sadaam offered the Iranians a peace deal and withdrew to the Iraqi border. The Iranian mullahs decided to continue the war and declared the war a "Holy War".
Lol, where did you get that from? Fauxnews? Saddam was afraid of Iran spreading the revolution to Arab countries so he attacked with US backing. (Which was incredibly stupid of him).
I was alive during the Iran-Iraq war. 1) The Iran-Iraq war began when Iraq invaded Iran on 22 September 1980. 2) Saddam withdraws Iraqi Army from Iran on June 20, 1982. 3) A peace deal was offred to Iran of $70 billion in war reparations and withdrawl of Iraqi Army from all Iranian terroritory. 4) Iran rejected Iraq's offer. Khomeini on the issue of a truce with Iraq: "There are no conditions. The only condition is that the regime in Baghdad must fall and must be replaced by an Islamic Republic." That's the facts Jack. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran-Iraq_war
"Holy war" do you really know what "Holy war" ( Jihad ) means?! You saying Shia's declaring jihad against shia's? Saddam army had a great bunch of shia generals, soldiers etc.. who were fighting against iran. Some people are too stupidto get some facts stright to their head, i feel pity for them. I told Iran-Iraq war was not a full religios war between shias and sunnis, why its so hard for some people to get it?!
Lol coming from a Christian that is hilarious. Bogart: Iraq invaded, caused damage, withdrew and basically asked Iran to go away. Not going to happen is it?
If there is one thing throughout history that has always been proven time after time , it is that superpowers have always kept their power through covert manipulation, media bias and puppet dicatorships. The romans did it, the persian empire did it, the soviets did it, we even did in iran(1953 over throw of mossadegh installing teh shah). What needs to be changed is getting more of the regular everyday people not to think like sheep about this. Absolute power throughout the ages corrupts absolutely. Flag wavers will always be blind to whats really going on around them.
i was working out at the gym today and was watching one of those tv's on the ceiling or watever. It was CNN and i was really annoyed by the heavy amount of propoganda they displayed. They had "BREAKING HEADLINES: 2 INJURED IN IRAN" or something to that point and then they displayed a picture of this women with a "half hijab" (showing half her hair), dressed quiet as they would call it "western" and the words "freedom, justice, equality" next to her. Then they show a women in the full veil and traditional clothing holding a "Ahmadinejad" poster and the words disapeared... america is really manipulating our minds trying to associate people with a certain characteristic so that they could go on with their plans with little retaliation against their actions... this has been done to almost every race in american history, african american, irish, german, hispanic, arab, and now its the muslim religion... pretty sad to see. this is why i really doubt the votes to be misconstrued or changed, because we are overexagerating probably 1% of the iranian voters into such a big deal.. my .02 1
Looks like the pressure from the protesters is causing the guardian council in Iran to have a recount. What I found out by going to a lebanese forum is that it showed that Mousawi wasnt even shown to win his home town. Can we say Riggeddddddddd?????????? At least if they wanna rigg an election make it look believable, like maybe go to a grand jury or something lol.
