Good name but there's a lot of proxy sites. You can probably get more if you develop it and it shouldn't take much work to throw up a nice design and incorporate a free php proxy script. I'd say you can get about $100.
Thanks for appraisal. I'm not too experienced in developing but I guess I should look into it. More appraisals are welcome.
Do you know html? If you're not looking to design your own Website you might want to take a look at http://www.oswd.org and use one of their open source designs. Then, implement the proxy code, logo & any other content/ads you want. For a proxy site you probably only need to develop 1 page.
Hey I downloaded the php materials off of the link you provided. I'm not sure what to do next. Yes, I'm extremely novice.
You downloaded the php proxy script? There should be a readme file... I think that particular script comes with restrictions such as no google ad placements around it or something like that... it's been a while since I checked it out. Basically, you just need to insert the php code into your template. The template should have the .php extension otherwise it may not read the php code properly.
I'm looking through the readme. I don't seem to have a program that reads php files. Can you recommend 1 to me? And after I put code into my php, where do I put these files?
You can open the file in wordpad. You would copy/paste the code in the .php file into your Webpage, in the section where you want it to appear.
I see. It doesn't look like these scripts need editing from what I can see. I suppose I would have to buy hosting in order to do this?
Yes, try some of the proxy hosting in this forum. A lot of the time just a normal hosting package won't work.
I browsed the site and found this offer ------------------------------ Ok guys i have decided to buy another server and offer a specialized proxy service! And I can put my own adsense in right?
Why wouldn't normal Webhosts be able to run a proxy? I tested a free proxy on Godaddy and it worked well.
I don't see why you would have any problems running a proxy on Goddady's Webhosting. The only thing is, just like every other shared hosting provider, if your Website attracts tens of thousands of visitors a day, they may require you to upgrade to a dedicated server. But aside from that, I say use your credits and test it out on Godaddy. If you want to be sure, send Godaddy an email and ask them if their service is compatible with php proxies.
I just set up a hosting account. Everything seems to be running smooth. I'm trying to figure out where to put my php files.
I just got an email. ------------------------ Customer Inquiry Is the Godaddy hosting service compatible with PHP proxies? Support Staff Response Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for taking time to contact Online Support. Unfortunately this is not supported on any of our hosting plans including virtual dedicated and dedicated servers. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way. Sincerely, Online Support Technician --------------------- I suppose I'll need a new host.
I had one running about a year ago on Godaddy's cheapest web host plan. Since you've activated your hosting plan you should try it out. They say they don't support it but that might only mean that they won't provide support in case it doesn't work. It should work.
Ah. I had canceled it earlier after the email. But for some reason I still have 11 credits. I just activated a new one. It is pending status but should be up very soon. When it does come up, where do I put the php files?
