    Hi guys,

Not sure if this is the right section to post this but i'm looking for some particular information on IPS tags...

Here goes: If i have my own web business and it was called (for example) Bobs Websites... How do i go about getting my own ips tag so i can transfer domains in to me... i.e. how do i get the ips tag BOBSWEBSITES?

I'm not too familiar with this kind of thing but i know that if i own a .co.uk domain name with the IPS tag COMPANY1 and i want to transfer the domain to 'company 2' they would ask me to change the ips tag to COMPANY2 so that it can be transferred in and nameservers pointed to the new hosting...

Hope this makes sense to someone and they can provide me with some feedback and pointers...

    Thanks in advance, Alan

You can get a TAG for free from nominet, however, on that tag, domain registrations & renewals are charged at £80+vat per 2 years. To get the discounted rate, you need to become a nominet member (£500+Vat for the first year, £100+vat thereafter) and then the price drps to £5+vat per 2 years.

It's really not worth it unless you register & renew hundreds of domains...

I agree with JeeWhizz. If you register 100's of domains then go for it. If it's just a handful then its not worth worrying about.
