Aaahhh.....not too sure about the ad placements on this one!! iPhones News Obviously, as the topic is quite new it's not exactly an "orginal and content-rich" site...but how do the ads look? Any help appreciated!!! kumiko xo
Well, on my computer, both in Internet Explorer and Opera the lay-out is wrong. (Or so I'm assuming, this is not how you wanted it.) I see the top banner, but for all the content I need to scroll completely to the right.
do not use godaddy to host your site you can get free server space where you do not have to have any ads at all.
There will be an explosi9n of sites created around the iphone device. Since you are one of the early ones you could get a nice traffic flow to the site.
The placement is nice. But the ads are not relevant to your content. Since you have been using free godaddy server all ads are relevant to webhoting only. Try to move to some other free server.
I see ads on the site, however I see a large horizontal grey area below the top banner. I would add a large adsense banner there as its a prime spot.
WHOAH!!!!!! THAT'S NOT EXACTLY THE TYPE OF ADS I WANTED ON MY SITE!!!! Thanks for the heads up!!! Much appreciated!! <kiss> Offending ad removed!! kumiko xo
Might be a stupid question but do you have the right to use 'iphone' in the url name? (i heard there was a probelm with people using 'ipod' in their url)
Good question!! The only answer I could find was at www.eff.org Can I use a trademark in my blog's name or in the title of a blog post? Yes, if it is relevant to the subject of your discussion and does not confuse people into thinking the trademark holder endorses your content. Courts have found that non-misleading use of trademarks in URLs and domain names of critical websites is fair. (Bally Total Fitness Holding Corp. v. Faber, URL http://www.compupix.com/ballysucks; Bosley Medical Institute v. Kremer, domain name www.bosleymedical.com). Companies can get particularly annoyed about these uses because they may make your post appear in search results relating to the company, but that doesn't give them a right to stop you. Sometimes, you might use a trademark without even knowing someone claims it as a trademark. That is permitted as long as you're not making commercial use in the same category of goods or services for which the trademark applies. Anyone can sell diesel fuel even though one company has trademarked DIESEL for jeans. Only holders of "famous" trademarks, like CocaCola, can stop use in all categories, but even they can't block non-commercial uses of their marks. Does anyone have a better answer than this? There sure are a LOT of ipod sites that aren't owned by apple.... kumiko xo
Kumiko, u keep having the adultsite on your websites altought i think that is not relevant ads. I'm at work, and the first thing i've done when open your sites was closing them. You should use other kind of ads, IMO. (not that i don't like those but.. that's not contextual advertising). GL for your sites.
So true! Not contextual...but when it comes to anything....SEX SELLS!! Please come and visit it from your home computer! kumiko xo
That's only partially true. Sex sells, but so does quality content. And why so many ads? I prefer 2-3 well positioned ads over a ton of page clutter. IMO, take your site off the web, and redesign before the negative reputation spreads.
