I was gonna buy iPhone.cn last night and then saw it get taken in front of my very eyes. Just wondering how much would it have been worth in the future?

IPhone.cn or any other extension will become valuable. I give that domain a value of a low $xxx range for the domain itself. More with a good content based built around it.

not sure on .cn terms for TM's but as you've noticed cisco suing apple over iphone name... so either way you'd probably have to deal with one or the other eventually, im not sure on chinese user browsing... if they actually type in .cn (no experienced investing in it) but if they do, could make some money off the name.

nice domain worth $xxx - $xxxx dependingon how you sell it. Try contacting Apple, they don't hold TM rights over the name so they can't sue you. At same time you registered it before they launched their product. Cell phones are getting big in China, and its a valuable name.

Wouldn't that end up to be a serious breach of Apple's trademark if you reged it?

Actually Cisco owns all trademark rights to the word iPhone. Search the news and you can catch up on what has happened and how Apple has directly violated Cisco's trademark rights when they were still in negotiations.

Apple's gonna pay big time IMO, Apple (~$80 billion cap company) versus Cisco ($170+ billion cap company)...

I believe this is a trademark issue since Cisco has had the name trademarked for several years, since 2000. I just went thru this with Borgata casino and resorts for registering borgataopen.com.

I fully complied with their every request, which all they wanted were to have the domain transferred over. Their attorney actually was a delight to work with and had no problem talking with me and answering all my questions. We were on the phone for some time. I did not get sued thank god, she said that they only pursue litigation in the event that some registered a domain, lets say TheBorgata.com (or even "borgataopen.com" in my case) and were to purposely put porn or adult content on their and they were not willing to change it or tranx it. In that case she said they would take legal action.

That's good news the the owner!

It seems that the domain is going to expire soon, will the owner renew it?
    I doubt it!:D
