With the release of the iPhone, I already see the .mobi market dieing out. Why? The widescreen and high resolution. You can view a regular page fine and dont need a "mobile" version for a lot of websites. What are your thoughts?
Well, I'll just say this. If I tell a friend go to www.somethinghere.mobi , he won't remember it. No one (except computer people) has heard about mobi. I think most people either go to the .com or the ccTLD of their own country. Just my thoughts, and I think the iPhone looks awesome Too bad someone had time to register my "winning" iphone domain just before me, I should've pounced on it directly instead of waited.
Yes, thats something Ive learned as well. If you want a domain, just bite the $7 and see what happens. I dont not register or have thoughts of not registaring a domain anymore.
Bearing in mind the fairly enomous cost of the iphone, i can't actually visualise that many people buying it secondly, the big thing about .mobi is the enforcement of screen sizes an formatting you don't have to have a .mobi for that, but, i'am hoping the SE's might favour .mobi sites for mobile or very small device surfers
