iPhone 5 Is it worth it or not?

Obviously there's a ton of hype surrounding the iPhone 5. I read an article yesterday that said the iPhone 5 sold out in less than 1 hour in pre-order this year as apposed to 22 hours that it took for the iPhone 4s to sell out last year. I have an Apple store just down the road from my house in Scottsdale, AZ and there are people camping outside all night just to get their hands on the new device. So with all of this hype. Do you think it's really worth it to upgrade?

The Samsung Galaxy S3 crushes the iPhone 5. However Apple has the following and brand name recognition to dominate almost any contender in the mobile arena lol.

I'm not surprised the iPhone 5 made record sales.

In my mind, compared to the S3, the iPhone 5 isn't worth it.

    Exactly David.
Even I also think that as compared to Samsung galaxy S3, iPhone 5 is not worth. It is much more high in prices but less in functionalities as compared to S3.
So, I think its price is not worth

It depends what you are upgrading from? from an Original iPhone? 3GS? 4 or what? If you are upgrading from an older iPhone then yes it is worth it. Larger screen, lightening, faster, but there isn't much else difference in the Operating system at all.

If you are upgrading from something else then it really depends if you like iOS. lots of people have religious wars on what they think it "better" but its really up to the user.

I use the 3GS and was waiting for the 5 but since there is little difference other than the screen to suit cinema format I have decided to stick with what I have for now.

If you have an iPhone I would say stick and if not i would say get the 5.

I have an Iphone 4 and held in hand I5 recently. My first impression was not the actual lenght, but somehow they managed to make the 5 lighter and thiner, approx 2-3mm, the deepth of glass.
So first aesthetic impression was really good.

Definitely worth it. I just upgraded from my iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5 and love it, but I also had an upgrade and was waiting on the iPhone 5. Depending on your budget and time until your next upgrade I would wait for the upgrade if it's only a few months away or look online instead of paying full price from Apple or in your cell phone service provider's store.

I really think Apple is losing their game since Steve Jobs died. I don't think there's much improvement on the iPhone 5.
