ipconfig /flushdns

My host has had my sites down for about 15 hours and they've just come up again. There was an IP change and that's caused havoc for him.

I work from home and my husband and I connect to the net via the same computer. He can see the sites ok without even doing an flush but I can't. I've rebooted, restarted the router etc.

Any ideas on what how to get around this?

    thanks

You could edit your hosts file to point to the new IP. If you want more information on it, let me know, are you using Windows XP?

Found an article on it, if you want to give this a shot, it's what I do if my ISP is being slow to update the DNS cache.

Yeah, I'm on XP and it's come right. I think the hosting company is still having big problems though so no doubt that was part of it. Grrrrr

Have you tried openDNS? Some people use it, and I've heard its pretty good.

Have you tried something as simple as clicking your LAN icon in the sys tray and selecting "Repair"?

I would start off by calling your ISP and getting a current update of what thier status is. Theres no point in wracking your brain trying things out on the PC/router end if the ISP is down.
