    Hi guys,

i'm planning on creating a forum about traveling to a certain destination.
Ipboard and VB are probably the best software out there, but whom should i chose?
the financial part is also an important factor...
IPB have a hosted plan starting from 10$/month and i didn't see such an option with VB.
    what would you recommend?

I recommend looking at other software first and making a list of your needs (not wants, needs). The fact that you are simply assuming they are "probably" the best means you haven't really shopped around. I personally don't like either systems as they will take up server resources, as opposed to phpBB, on the large forums I run.

Of the two... I would absolutely not go with vBulletin at its high price (in comparsion to IPB or XenForo) and its horrendous customer service, not to mention the fact that they're going to force everyone to pay almost full price again for vBulletin 5, which isn't even a full code rewrite.

Have you heard of XenForo though? It was made by the developers of vBulletin 3 (Kier and Mike) and so far, it's looking modern, user-friendly, and feature-perfect.
