I know this has probably been done but I have some specific questions regarding the two.

So for each question if you know can you put an answers for VB and IPB

    ex:

    1)
    vB: yes
    IPB: no
    ----

    1) Once a license needs to be renewed, does that mean you CANT USE the software AT ALL? or you just dont get support?

    2) Can I setup a forum on more then one website, owned by me?

    3) Has better skins/themes?

    4) Has better mods?

    5) Looks more sleek/thin/stylish/web 2.0?

    6) Easy to use admin cp?

    Thanks in advanced

    1) With both IPB and VB licenses, if they expire they don't need to be renewed to be able to continue using, you can use both licenses with an expired license, but you don't receive upgrades or support.

    2) For both IPB and VB - no, not unless you have 2 licenses. However I know for a fact that VB also give you the option to have 1 main board and 1 test board, but you can only use the main board for allowing people to post etc. the test board is strictly to be used for testing purposes only.

    3) Both IPB and VB have nice skins, you just have to find them, some good IPB themes can be found at skinbox.net and some good VB themes can be found at http://www.transversestyles.com/ (transversestyles also offers IPB themes.)

    4) Both have good mods. But VB definitely has better mods and a bigger range of mods. Due to the newly released IPB 3.0.x and VB 4.0.x it will be hard to find good mods for them, but the older versions have a lot of mods, but VB has more.

    5) Personally IPB looks more sleek and stylish/web 2.0, it's default design is great whereas VBs is pretty awful.

    6) VB ACP is very annoying and overloaded with features which can often be very hard to navigate around, I personally hate the VB ACP, whereas the IPB ACP is amazing, it's very detailed and easy to work around.

Well those are my answers, others may have different answers then what I do.

    Good luck mate!

I use to be for vbulletin until the recent fiasco with vb4. Right now you're better off with IPB.

I agree. We use vbulletin but wont be renewing when our license expires. IB needs to learn what Customer services is about.

    vB - No
    IPB - No

That's a personal opinion. I think it's safe to say that vB has more free skins available.

vB has many more modifications and add-ons available than IPB.
    IPB does.
vB's AdminCP is ugly, but extremely efficient and navigable. IP.Board's CP takes a while to get used to, and is sometimes a bit difficult to navigate quickly.
