    Hi,

Which one I should get the ipb for 70$/year but I can keep it more then 1 year but I won't have the updates.

or vbulletin for 85$/year and after the 1 year I need to renew it.

    thanks

I have a lot of experience with vB and I can highly recommend it. In terms of support, extensibility, features and stability definitely a great script. Highly customizable, too. I never had the chance to compare with ipb, though.

If money is an issue, go with phpbb.

I run/prefer IPB but a lot of larger sites will use VBulletin because most say it takes less server overhead to run it.

I have my own vbulletin license and highly recommend it over anything else.

I still think IPB has some better features and a little slicker programming but it also tends to be updated a lot which is somewhat of a pain in the ass if you have any modifications and custom skins.

Thinking back I probably would have used VB if I had know the differences in performance between the two because of the size that my forum has grown to.
