IPB Forums Settings

Hope I can ask this here.

I use IP Board forums 3.1.2 and I want to make it on certain sections where a user can only view what he posted and not what others posted. I know it's possible because I have seen other forums like this! How do I set it that way?

    Thanks!

For one, I use IPB 3.1.2. And I know it's possible because I have seen other IPB forums with settings set as such.

No, because the permissions aren't advanced enough to set it like that. Now please, stop posting these unhelpful replies.

The guy is trying to help you, you Moron. You could show a bit of gratitude for his attempt. :(

I truly hope no one on here actually does help you by providing the answer.

Well if he would have read what I originally said, he would have known his answers wouldn't help. So stop assuming you know what I am talking about when you have no clue.

Now please, does anyone have a helpful reply?

Well, it's not in permissions because if I set it to where they can't view topics then they can't see their own after they post it.

Doesn't really help that you're a jackass to him. Either way, that was out-of-date cause his screenshot was from IPB 2.3 and he wants 3.2. The Admin CP actually has changed, unlike vBulletin.

Have you asked the IPS Community?

in vb, you can do that by creating a usergroup -> set user to view and reply to his threads alone, along with set permissions for the forum - usergroup can view other's threads or not. I don't remember though if its an add-on or a default feature, try in the same structure its been more than 5 years since I last played with an IPB forum

I figured it out! You log in to admin cp then you Go to the "Forums" tab then go to the desired forum and click "edit settings" then click the "postable forum settings" tab and look for "Allow posters to view other member's topics" and chose "no"
