    Hello All,

I'm fairly new to web design and everything that goes with it, i'm slowly getting my head around it all, and it is as hard as it looks... I've visited digitalpoint.com for various reasons in the past but have never signed up, however after getting some great advice off various threads today, i realised, you guys ain't that bad.. hopefully you lovely people may be able to help me out with the following...

I've recently taken out 12 months with ipage.com hosting who offer unlimited domains unlimited storage and so on and so on. It seems a good idea and i currently working quite well for the small scale domains i have, but... i'm looking to invest in a specific domain of mine and i notice ipage is pretty slow on the scale of things and i'm assuming it's shared hosting, so the more people on the sites hosted by ipage the slower everones sites go, i think?

So my question is as follows, is ipage.com really that good for (fingers crossed) a high traffic website with lots of graphics, information, shopping cart etc? If not, what would be my new best option? VPS? Dedicated server? Buy a server off eBay. These are things i know nothing about. Please if you can shed any light on my situation and help me out please do so. I'd be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You should avoid ANY host that offer unlimited storage and bandwidth, first of all. Secondly, Ipage gets largely terrible reviews at the major web hosting forums.

How busy are you talking in terms of visitors, etc.? If it really is high traffic, shared hosting really shouldn't be an option. Your performance is either going to suffer, or your site will be suspended for resource usage. A VPS might provide you what you need. A dedicated server most definitely will, but you will pay (dearly) for that performance.

How many visitors? How much real disk space do you need? How much real bandwidth do you need? And finally, what is your monthly budget?

Ipage is not one of the top notch webhosts. If you are really serious about your buisness or site and you are aiming at such high-end graphic site, then i personally would suggest you,to go for hostgator (VPS) or inmotion (VPS)

ipage is good hosting. But I prefer their sister company Fatcow. Use fatcow and you get reliable hosting for $3 ( http://promotion.fatcow.com )

    Thanks
