iPad or no iPad?

I travel and want to buy an iPad so I can start leaving my MacBook at home. Are they ok to use for content creation on a short term basis...or should I not bother? Anyone experienced trying to write blog posts on an iPad?

I say Go for it, you won't regret it but I think you should wait for the Second-Gen iPad, just a month or so. I haven't faced any problem in writing blog posts so far :)

If you are planning to purchase an iPad, hold on to that till the new model comes out on the first quarter of next year.

I will recommend getting an ipad anyway. Its totally relaxing to surf the web for new ideas on StumbleUpon in the living room, watching tv. And there are so many apps right now to support almost any need you can have. I even connected it to my wireless apple keyboard to get the writing up to speed, and you could get a ipad dock to use it as a monitor while writing at an airport. But as mattphelps is saying its soon to come a new model, but you could get one now and give it to a close friend or family when that time comes...

thanks!!! That helps :) I was planning to wait for the next gen...mainly because I heard that it is great for Skype. I live abroad and use skype exclusively to communicate, so I was also thinking it would be great for that as well.

I must say, that writing on Ipad/Epad?apad would be really hard. first of all, you will have to write using only one finger, and the keyboard on the screen will take almost all screen size, and you will not see very much of what are you writing.
