IP Question

I recently had to change to a new server and noticed that while I wanted to send an email to my @sbcglobal.net email address, it responded back that my IP range has been blocked. Will this have negative effects on search engines when I switch my site over to this new IP? Or does email IP have nothing to do with this.

 

Changing IP won't affect your site's status on search engines

 

Hard to say.. Your current host may be blacklisted by Google if it violated the guidelines before.. I would suggest you to create a Google Webmaster Account and monitor your site for abnormal activities.

 

I do have a webmaster account so I guess i'll try to see how search traffic is effected.

 

Since you mentioned email, that may be due to the fact that your IP is on some form of a RBL list - check if your IP is listed as a spam IP.

 

Got my host to check and it's not.

 

I think not effected but some professional have opinion Google can consider these issue.
