IP problem with PayPal?

Discussion in 'PayPal' started by Muhammad Haris, Mar 15, 2007.

I'm from Pakistan as you might be already aware - My uncle from Italy just helped me create a verified paypal account with his bank account as a possible way to withdraw my money.

If I access paypal account directly from Pakistani IPs, will that be a problem or will my account get blocked?

    Awaiting replies.

I haven't read anywhere that paypal requires you to log in from your account's country of origin only...

So true, there is nothing written but your account may be blocked anyway.

Happened to me once while being abroad, then Paypal emailed me asking me for documents, but regaining access after doing so.

Have your uncle access the account for you exclusively.

Yes, Paypal may not outwardly mentioned that you cannot do it but I believe their system will be alerted if you do so.

Unless you do not mind risking and losing the account, I will say it is best not to do so.

How about going on it through USA/Italy IPs? Will that be called partially safe?

You mean using a proxy? I don't think Paypal will even let you log in.

I don't recommend that to. Paypal is a billion dollar international support corporation and is not as stupid as what some people think they are. I believe they will easily see through your scam.

If you do not mind getting your account frozen then try it. If not, do not use the paypal account at all.

    Can't agree more.
Even though Paypal does not treat its customers equally, it still is a crowd of clever people doing one of the best businesses on the web.

On a side note, most proxy services will not let you go through a SSL website like Paypal, unless you pay for such enabling such feature and even then it's more likely that it doesn't work either.

I'm not stupid to use web proxy because you risk/trust the owner of the web proxy with your passwords.

I'm using an Italian IP:port proxy (My paypal account is originated from Italy)

When you open paypal with a different IP, it makes your account limited. You can do nothing with limited account until you resolve it.

I don’t think it would be a wise idea to do so...

Have your uncle/or some else access that account for you.

    The safer, the better.

There is a chance that your account might get limited. Otherwise try get a Italian proxy.

Well there might be one more possibility that your uncle email PayPal telling that he often travel to Pakistan and will access his paypal account from Pakistan. I think telling Paypal this will solve the problem as PayPal account is not bound to be used only from the country of its origin. PayPal may ask for further documents as a verification part.
