IP tools, locators, managers, analizers, whatever, can you guys/gals get this thread going with what uses and value webmasters can gain using them.

Please post your favorites and give examples on how you use them. Any articles would be welcomed.

First I will leave this one I found following a Overture Landing Page.

ALSO: this is a free tool for spying on those that hit your sites, real cool, I found out where Shawn lives with this one. :D

I'm kinda biased (since I wrote it!), but here's my quick-n-dirty IP location page - note that it also tells you about the Perl Module I'm using, so if you want to do yourself, you could. It also tells you some misc. items about your browser and other stupid pet tricks! ;-)

Shawn also has a website to country which I think uses the ARIN data so probably a bit better ... although geolocation is a difficult problem and not always accurate no matter what approach is used.

You should be ashamed of yourself for promoting your own tools. :D

Hey man, if it is a good tool, let the _____ fly, who cares who wrote it, thanks for the link

Got any other software we should be aware of?

ALEK, the page is disabled due to spammers, so that means it will not work?

Actually, the page DOES work - shows where YOU are coming from and various facts about your browser. What I disabled was the ability to punch in a IP address or domain name - this was being abused by the spammers - sorry, this is not going to be renabled for a while.

Shawn's tool allows you to input a domain though.

If you're not familiar with dnsstuff.com have a look there, as there are all sorts of tools related to DNS.
