Hello! It's important where is hosting localisation ? For example, I would like to get visitors from USA, I have hosting in Germany. It's any difference with traffic ? Should I invest in USA hosting ?
Google will only use the location of your hosting as an indication of your geo-targeting if it has no other information to go on. The simplest thing to do is register with Google webmaster tools and set your geo-targeting there. Additionally it helps to have the tld of your chosen location - and/ or (if you have a 'geographically neutral' tld like .com or .net), get backlinks from sites with the tld of your chosen location.

Hosting location is part of SEO points to be considered. If you are catering US traffic, it is good to have your site hosted in US servers. As a client, it will be faster to load the pages if it is hosted locally. Recently, Google have added load time features as one of the factors in 200+ points to rank website in their search results. So, I suggest you to host it in US, and yes it is a good investment. About Geo-setting in Google webmaster, hope this guidelines helps you.
