Hi All, I'm setting up an ecommerce site with a dropshipper. They handle all the hosting, database management etc as part of their service. I requested that my site has a unique IP. They told me they can not give me a unique IP but they can set up 'IP forwarding'. I want my domain to basically point to an IP that is not shared with other sites they host for 2 reasons: 1) Some content on the sites they manage is obviously similar so I don't want Google and other SEs to rank my site lower because of similar content on different domains sharing the same IP. 2) I want my site to be accessible in China and I have had a different site on a shared IP that could not be seen in China. I started paying for a unique IP at the hosting company this other site was on and the site can now be viewed there. So, is 'IP forwarding' going to return a different IP from the other sites. If I ping my domain, will it give me a different IP from the other sites? Thanks!
