If I set up an ip filter to block my office, is this retrospective?
So If I was to look at my analytics stats from last year, would analytics automatically filter out my office IP searches and visits, or is this only for what I do in the future?

The filter would not remove the previous data but would stop counting the future visits generating from your office.

hi, if you are using static ip in your office then you can create a filter and easily exclude your office ip from analytics.

Unfortunately you can't filter out old analytics data. The filter will take effect from the day you apply it. I wish it was possible the other way around. That would have been cool, but Google don't save the IP addresses.

I think that most offices use dynamic IP's. So IP blocking is efficient only in case of static Ip's. Confirm that first before implementing it.
By the way, why do you wish to block that traffic from your office?
