IP Deny in IIS is very difficult?

Discussion in 'Security' started by 30na, May 7, 2007.

    I was working with cPanel and Apache for a long time and it was easy to add some IPs to deny using IP deny manager or .htaccess files.

    I now have some websites on Windows 2003 servers and IIS using Plesk control panel and it seems very difficult to do the same in this system.

    Does anyone know a software or solution to solve this problem without being an IT engineer? :confused: :(

    There are a number off add on tools you can use that are more "user friendly". Check out webattack.com for some free/low cost firewalls.

    Use a firewall rather than IIS to deny IP;s

    its very simple in IIS....

    mmc -> click console - > add/remove snapins -> internet information services

    find your certain host.. like blah.com right click on left pane.. hit properties..

    hit directory security... in middle should use domain/IP button to allow/deny by IP

    IIS sucks -.-

    hope it helps some
