IP banned by Akismet or URL banned?

    When aksimet "bans" you do they ban your IP address or your website url? The reason I ask is I have been assuming that my IP address was bannd as I was leaving comments with my website or urls within my website under the website box on the comments page of blogs. These result in the dreaded
    white blank page".

    I tried for a grin using my blog sites urls and 100% are going through with the same IP. So I now think that the ban is for the url, is that accurate?

    Based on all the testing I have done Akismet bans URL not your IP.
