I didn't no where to post this, so i'm posting it here. I have 3 computers in my home network, and I don't no much about IP's. How can I get 2 of my computers to have 2 different IP addresses? When i googled this it kept telling me every computer has a different IP address but when i tried doing something it says someone else using your same IP is doing this so you can't untill they log off... so how do i get this fixed? How can I have 2 computers in the same home network have 2 different IP's?
If you have a router find out what IP range it is using. Most of them are using a fake/internal IP range of 192.168.1.x Insure DHCP is off and begin using anything in that specified range, EXCEPT for the router's address, which usually starts at 1 (where as the "x" above is 1) Or you could just use DHCP and let your router assign IP's to your machines.
