    Does IP Address has something to do with your search engine ranking? I mean does it affect your rankings in google serps?

    No i don't think so , it doesn't have to do anything with your search engine ranking . Many webmaster keep working from another places and change their ip address but their ranking doesn't changes .

    No it does not have to do a thing with IP address, had it been IP addresses, the blogger and wordpress.com blogs wouldn't have been indexed at all. They are all based on shared load servers and the IP addresses change frequently.

    Until, Matt Cutts comes out and says something, I wouldn't believe it. You might find the following quote interesting, as it shows Google's leniency towards the subject;

    Only if your site is hosted on a shared hosting and the IP address is banned by Google, so if your website is indexed then no need to worry about it.

    I totally agree that the IP shouldn't have nothing to do with the rankings but!, if you have website in german language hosted in Russia? :) I think that as long as you have the hosting in the same country that have the native language of your website is perfect!
    Cheers!

    If you are targeting local markets - it is a good idea to host your site on a local server...

    @ marieg
    IP address has nothing to do with SERPs ranking.

    @ Felixj
    IMO somehow it diminishes the link value so it won't help much

    it only matters if you are doing geo-targetting and are looking to target a certain area or country - then Ip address can effect Googles perception.

    It also matters if you are building linka accross your websites - if they are hosted on the same server then they will not be worth as much nlink power wise.

    What i said now.

    YES IT IS

    if you are using a shared ip, and other websites have low gold, then you probably cannot go to very high gold.

    if they are spam sites, or red flag sites, then you must have some flags on your website, you will always be on risk.
