Hey guys, I was thinking about starting a New Age/Wicca store. ( forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=752403) I was going to go on ebay...but it seems like it is going down there anyways... I moved over to ioffer.com. Anyone have anything to say about it?
30% of people on iOffer are scammers, you will hardly get nay sales on iOffer and Paypal doesn't protect you at all on iOffer. My friend bought 2 ipod touches for $500 and never got them. He started a Paypal dispute and Paypal said they couldn't do anything.. Avoid iOffer at all costs...
Does PayPal really give protection for anyone else apart from ebay users? This is when it's best to pay through a credit card so at least your bank will protect you & they usually do that much better than PayPal anyway. Also, there are alternatives to PayPal. Try Google Checkout if it's available in your country. Your friend wasn't helped by PayPal but what about iOffer's protection? Did your friend use that? There's no point in giving people advice if you just throw in bits & pieces, especially the scary ones only & don't bother mentioning all the relevant parts. FYI, ebay is loaded with fakes too. I'm with iOffer & have had a few sales already though it is slower than ebay, of course, because of fewer users. It is growing quickly, though. My 3 biggest complaints about it are that they calculate the final value fee on the TOTAL amount (sale & shipping charges), the same way PayPal does. Ebay doesn't but ebay charges listing fees (iOffer doesn't) so in the end, you would be paying much more with ebay. This is the argument anyway which is true for less popular items listed. You need to check iOffer's fees & list your items at a higher amount so as not to make a minute profit. You won't make much on very low listing amounts. My other complaints are their "Make an Offer" option which just makes you receive pathetically low offers (I still prefer an auction style which is not available) & also how iOffer doesn't allow private contact with members (buyers & sellers). All comments & emails to each other are in full public view. I would say start with iOffer & list some items & see how it goes. In the meantime, check & try other sites too. I tried ebid which seemed good but then was suspended because of my own personal & unusual circumstances. Also, their customer service quality seemed too below standard to me. I'm still looking for an alternative but will be sticking with ioffer for now.
I personally like iOffer, I've been using it for quite awhile as a buyer. I wish they'd start an affiliate program.
I offer is great if you dont want to sell anything. Its cool that listing fee's are free but you might get one visitor per day. John
That is excellent advice, a much more balanced view and believable because of that. Good info, thanks.
I bought a few things of iOffer, and it came as planned. The only qualm I have against it, is that it takes so darn long to load. I've had good experiences with it though.
