Just out of the blue I got an invite from Forbes to join a new network they are setting up. Here's some other posts on it: http://worldbeta.blogspot.com/2007/12/forbescom-moves-into-blog-aggregator.html http://www.edbrill.com/ebrill/edbri...-financial-blog-network?opendocument&comments Anyone else get an invite? The only reason I think I was chosen was because I recently signed up with BlogBurst. It's more exposure, but you must run a 728x90 leaderboard and one other ad size.
Ick....leaderboards...I hate those banners. Everything sounds cool up until I saw that part. That's alot of real estate you have to give them, so I'd have to agree that you'd need to see a big return on this. I'd be curious to see if the links to your blog will have the nofollow tag or no, as that could make it very well worth it. Imagine having direct text links from forbes.com, that could be huge for SEO purposes.
i viewed the source code at: http://blogs.forbes.com/digitaldownload/ and don't see any "no follow" tags so i would imagine there would be good SEO benefit from this. yes, the banners suck BUT i might give it a shot and see what kind of traffic it would bring in and how it would affect my SERP. the contract says you can opt out at anytime with 30 days notice.
