I would not recommend using 1.3 or 2.0.0 without installing all the security patches. There have been alot of updates since and it is alot easier to just spend the money on the latest version than get hacked in seconds.

 

The problem is that not all people can afford IPB licenses, that is why many people are still looking for the older versions.

Invision released a second version of 1.3 which prevents SQL injection and there are still available many free mods, hacks and patches available through invisionize and other websites.

Mystique, if you want that IPB 1.3 version, you will need to apply for my hosting service, it is available as one-click script in cPanel

As for the domain name, I want to get rid of it, so let's modify the terms.

So true, I have been running IPB 1.3 for 3 years with no major problem and then changed to 2.0.0 for another year with satisfactory results, but all lost after a server crash before move my domains, that is why I need them again.

I have the latest IPB release (2.1.7) but useless because I can't get the news displayed in the main portal page for no registered members and IPB is unable to suggest how

So IPB 2.0.0 comes handy to me, since I have already too much webspace to signup for your hosting offer

Yes, I had the same problem getting the news displayed since IPB Portal 2.1.4

In fact I have a different forum domain name for each version starting with IPB 1.3, but this domain in particular is sold because I dont want the word "talk" anymore

 

I have no much time for forums, so the more basic the best

IPB 2.0.0. does not require investing too much time in management and since I want people go to talk for keeping alive the community with no much of my intervention, interactivetalk sounds like a great deal to me
