G'day Forum I have been trying to learn how to set my website introduction text that is shown when my site appears in Google Listings, however I am having no luck. Currently when my site is listed on google, it just displays the first bit of text displayed on the page, but I want set it to a specific introduction. I had a play around with Meta Tags, however it doesnt seem to be working, so not sure if I did it right. If anyone is able to explain what I have done wrong, or the easiest way to set my intro text for google, it would be much appreciated. My website is www.australianracingboard.com.au Cheers Jake
Your meta tags should come right after the HEAD tag, and you should be using the description meta tag on every page. Each meta description should be different for every page. Also looking at the site, I would take that massive load of javascript you are using and put it in an external file. Then use one line of code to simply call that external javascript code.
But i could not find meta description tag for your home page of the site. You have to add meta tags for your site. That must be unique and explain shortly about that specific page.
Thank you for your help. I attempted to put a meta description tag in, just not sure if I did it wrong or put it in the wrong place. What code should i use, how should it be laid out and where should it be placed, if I want the description to read: "The Australian Racing Racing Board is the peak governing administration body for horse racing in Australia"
