    Dear Digitalpoint forum,

I'll cut a lot of crap and just get to the most important stuff. 25 years old, tried various bachelor degrees at university but not enough drive/passion to really finish them. Been doing martial arts for ten years, competed in pro mma. Other hobbies include girls, movie/video editing and traveling.

Now how I got into this making money on the internet thing,

Early November in 2009 a game was released that most of you will have heard of : ' Modern warfare 2'. It was late one night, I was on youtube watching commentary videos of some of the best mw2 players when I spotted a video in the 'related' slidebar on the side. It was titled : 'how to make money on the internet'. For some reason, that morning at 3am, I decided to click the ad and I ended up scouring the net until 10 am reading about SEO, adsense, wordpress blogs and more.

The next evening I immediately registered mw2tips.com. My idea was that there were thousands of commentary videos scattered across youtube, but no central site where these videos were categorized by weapon/commentator/map etc. Because the game had only been released a few weeks I had quite a big succes in getting to the #1 spot of google. All I did was google 'mw2 tips' 'modern warfare 2 tips' and checked the top-20 results. Of those top-20 results, nearly all were blog posts with comments enabled. On each of the blogs I wrote a different reply with my own link. Within a few weeks I was #1 and getting about 5-7k unique hits per day with about 50% of those returning visitors.

At the beginning of January I added adsense and was really not expecting to earn anything. Within 15 days I had already earned back my initial hosting and domain-name costs. At the end of February I kinda let my site die and decided to focus on my ever failing studies. My site still gets updated by some of the users on my forum who can add links and such. It still pulls in a few dollars a day at most and will probably make back my initial fee tenfold or so.

Now the thing is, it's always kind of been my dream to make money like this. My first money from google adsense wasn't much, but it was money I made with my own hard work. It was really a turning point in some kind of way. It seems money on the internet is out there waiting for whoever works hard for it. I quit my studies and have moved into a much cheaper apartment. I plan to work part-time and put in at least 45+ hours into making money on the internet. I feel digitalpoint is a good place to start from, to make my first official introduction.

So my plan is to live cheaply and to pump out ten, twenty, maybe thirty blogs that are meant to make money. I will keep a close eye on the games market and electronics products and try to play into popular demand. I understand this will be a learning process and I will probably horribly fail a few times before I get real success. But I hope that in 6 months, maybe I have a few blogs that are each pulling in 10 bucks a day. Enough to live in thailand for a year doing my blogwork from the beach =]

Hope to learn a lot here, and maybe one day teach a lesson or so my self!

Hi John. Also new here and even though my plan isn't as drastic as yours, I also plan to dedicate time here for extra cash over the summer break. It's a massive risk you have taken but after all, if you play your cards right, hopefully it will turn out great. I wish you all the luck in the world with your project :) Enjoy
