Wondering if anyone could perhaps shed some light on why ORON would ban a premium account? Similar to someone who posted in August 2010, my account was banned sometime this morning with about $55 in accumulated funds. I've sent a message to support, but have not received a response. I honestly don't see what I could have done wrong to warrant a ban, considering I'm a paying customer and I had started working on earning them and myself some money (albeit nothing like some people I've seen).

It's sort of a piss off to be honest.

At any rate any advice is greatly appreciated.

 

Did you perhaps share your premium acc with someone else? Or download from two different IPs at the same time? Also having multiple accounts is disallowed.

You should certainly seek an explanation from them.

 

I did not share my premium account with anyone else. Only thing I can think of is using remote upload from a different file host, however if ORON offers that service I don't see how transferring my files that way to another file host (I only have a 1mbit upload) would cause my account to banned. I don't have multiple accounts either, however I thought ORON actually advertised getting multiple for the people who think 20GB/3 days is not enough?

I assume the "contact us" webform is the only means to contact ORON support?

My files are still active, however I'm removing my links on forums for the time being as I think it unfair that they continue to make money while I get screwed over. I liked ORON until this happened. Hopefully they'll do the right thing and resolve my concerns in a satisfactory way.

Maybe they were remote uploading your files with different IPs at the same moment.

Keep asking for the reason of the ban. It might end up being a mistake.

 

Trust me that they aren't. You have just bad luck.

 

why they don't allow to have multiple account? they have only 250gb storage. 2month working I spent half of it.

 

They were allowing it last year, I had mailed support then and they said it was OK. After some time, people probably started self-referring themselves a lot with multiple account and it became disallowed. Maybe they allow it for downloaders only, workers not. Do ask them why.
Premium storage is unlimited, but if your file is not downloaded in 3 months it gets erased.

 

One response I received told me to contact them on ICQ, and a second email response stated my account was banned for "repeat infringement abuse report". I'm still not buying that response and no one is responding on ICQ at this point. I'm sort of losing faith in Oron after defending them in a few instances.

 

Spoke with Oron support and thankfully a satisfactory resolution was reached. And to be honest I was offered much more compensation than I expected. Just wanted to update my situation for anyone who may have been following it. And thanks to those who offered opinions or advice!

 

I'm not the greatest fan here, but I'm glad to read they still respond to account inquiries and offer compensation. + for Oron

I think this is not just bad luck. What do you think? Is there a way to write Oron Support or to find fault in me?
