    well, Joomla 1.6 has bundled 6 good looking templates . you may customize one of them .

    I think that every template from 1.5 works in joomla 1.6. If doesn't work you can always use a joomla plugin that joomla provides...

    the joomla 1.5 themes are able to work on joomla 1.6
