Blogger is easy to use for me. While wordpress has flexible elements. In any case, both sites exhibit search engine friendliness like most people here have already said. I guess that's good reason why a lot of people are using it.

As Aryans stated, wordpress has more plugins as compared to blogspot. Moreover they both are free of cost. But IMO, as far as i have experienced, i find blogger as the best and easiest of all

humm this is very easy question...as most of the people who are beginner can't spent money on web hosting, domain purchasing, web design, development and promotion stuff initially. Specially when there is no specific purpose of blogging. thats why they prefer free blogs.
